Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this post and I couldn’t agree more. As an emerging historically-marginalized author, it is really daunting to think how I’m going to get my book out there without self publishing. Just preordered your book and can’t wait to read it!

I'm kind of embarrassed for the author of that first link. I have read enough mediocre trad pub books by white women that I don't think it's the cherry picked list of agents looking for diverse stories that is the problem....

I wish I hadn't clicked the first link. Sometimes I forget how absolutely hateful "peers" in the publishing space can be but reading that author's post and the comments, jeez. We're in such a dark time but I remain grateful to have voices like yours to shed some light, Nisha. Thank you!
